A design and research focus on publishing practices, typography and form underpins their rigorous, crafted approach to design projects. Mackinnon Byrne works across editorial, identity and exhibition projects for built environment and cultural-sector clients.
Ella Mackinnon and Linda Byrne both hold an MA in book design from the University of Reading and currently art-direct RIBAJ and Architects’ Journal magazines, while also collaborating on editorial commissions and self-publishing projects.
Linda Byrne is senior lecturer on BA Graphic Design at Kingston Univerisity where she leads a publishing design pathway and interdisciplinary projects.
